Prof. Rui Si from Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, Visited the State Key Laboratory of Catalysis, DICP

Deng Group, Dalian Date:2018-06-13

On the morning of June 12th, Prof. Rui Si from Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, invited by Prof. Dehui Deng, delivered an academic report "The structure-activity relationship of supported small size catalysts studied by X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy". The report was presided by Prof. Dehui Deng, and more than 80 researchers and students from the related field present at the meeting.

Prof. Si introduces the XAFS technology of synchronous radiation in detail, and discusses how to solve the frontier problem of catalysis by combining the synchronous radiation XAFS technology and the study of the structure-activity relationship of the supported catalyst. The content of the report is rich and substantial; the discussion stage is active.

The main research field of Prof. Si is to explore the structure-activity relationship of inorganic nanomaterials in catalysis by using in-situ X-ray absorption spectrum characterization technology. He worked as a postdoctor at Tufts University (Maria Flytzani-Stephanopoulos group) and then as a research assistant at the Brookhaven National Laboratory (Jose A. Rodriuuez group) in the field of heterogeneous catalysis from July 2006 to December 2012. After returned to China in 2013, he worked in Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics.
